On the 28th of April, the second anniversary of the launch of the Scottish Tech Army, and together with our partners CodeClan, Inspiring Scotland and OpenUK we will once again gather for the Tech for Good Summit.

This year we will focus on the power of collaboration and the role technology and the tech sector have to play in supporting a sector under increasing pressure.

Only by joining forces can we truly have impact on the most serious challenges we face as a nation today. Join our speakers and panellists from home and abroad as we learn about tech for good done well, celebrate our volunteers and explore new opportunities to develop the tech for good ecosystem. The Summit will pave the way for a new level of collaboration as we host a series of follow-up events that will focus on specific Summit topics to drive more practical activity to advance the tech for good agenda.

The Art of the Possible

Post pandemic, the Third and Public Sectors are still under intense pressure.  Greater reliance on fewer resources is highlighting the need for new thinking. Through our Art of the Possible discussions, we will showcase real world examples that demonstrate the impact that technology can have to help organisations deliver more effectively, efficiently and affordably and on a scale that has never been seen before.

Tech for Good Ecosystem

The Tech for Good Ecosystem is alive and well in Scotland but we believe that a great deal more is possible. Our panels discuss the roles and contributions of all of the organisations that can play a part in the overall mission and how the ecosystem nourishes every part of it - charity, volunteer, employer and customer. We need a new alliance - only by joining forces can we really address the challenges we face today.

Agents of Change

Volunteers are Agents of Change – we will highlight and celebrate their contributions, show they create value for the organisations they sign up to help and the impact for the people served by those organisations. We will explore the quality of their experiences as volunteers, learners and employees and provide examples of the value that volunteers deliver back into the organisations that employ them.

Volunteers Assemble!

We've identified 3 big challenges that need bold, innovative thinking to solve them. On the day of the Summit, teams of volunteers and those seeking the answers will assemble for intensive sessions to come up with potential solutions. They'll report back on their ideas in a plenary session in the afternoon and we will follow and report on their  progress in the weeks that follow the Summit.

The day will include a stimulating mix of discussion, debate and discovery designed to inspire action and to be a springboard for a series of post summit events dedicated to addressing the issues raised. It's all about outcomes - the event will be a catalyst for a range of new initiatives.
